    Wine: Waiter's Corkscrew

    Setup
The tabletop is a floor tile. A small continuous-light lamp is on the left side slightly above the subject and very close to it to ensure soft shadows. A black reflector beyond the top of the scene darkens the top sides of the metal support. A white reflector on the right side is positioned precisely to lift the handle's shadow and to brighten parts of the metal support without affecting the screw's shadow.

Not sure about this one Mike. The crop is a bit tight. I guess that is because you wanted to promote the spiral in the comp but it has left the overall comp looking a bit untidy. I think the spiral could also do with a bit more bite (DOF?) - all IMHO of course. By the way is the spiral black or is that a function of the lighting? It matters not either way but I was curious.

Thank you to John and John!

John 2: The screw is black under normal lighting.

I am with John 2 on this one.
The CL part of the object really confused me at first glance, I also thought the table top was carpet before I read your setup notes.

    Hope this helps

Hi Mike I can remember a similar corkscrew image of yours uploaded in the past. As far as I can remember, it was fully sharp and clear. Your emphasis seems to be on the spiral and its shadow in this image. I like it

Thank you also to Robbie and Binnur!

Binnur: You're correct that I've used this corkscrew in other images, actually four of them. However, none of those images displays the corkscrew remotely the same as in this one.
