    Not bad for a kit lens I thought...

    I was out walking today and came across this busy little fellow. I shot it hand-held (as always)

    This was taken with a Canon 80D, EF-S 18-135, 85mm, f8, 1/1000, ISO 200

    The kit lens is often seen as a serious compromise because of its wide range, but I think it does an OK job really...

    That rather looks like our Myathropa florea. One of the Eristalis group.

    Do you get that species over there?

    You have me there... I was Just grateful the little fellow stayed still long enough for me to shoot it!

    Our bees never stay in one place long enough for me to shoot.
    And you're right, that isn't bad for a kit lens either.
