The idea is to present a challenge to people to meet that commitment of making at least one image per day. Some of us cannot commit to achieving that, so do not take part in these threads. But we sit back and enjoy the efforts and achievements of everyone else.
Sujata. As Donald said, this section is for daily photos but although you have missed half of the month I feel sure that you will be welcome if you want to continue daily postings for the rest of the month. It isn't a serious competition with a prize at the end of it; just a bit of fun.

Some days I find that it can be a bit of a struggle to find a photo which is good enough for public showing; but we aren't experts so don't feel that you have to produce a masterpiece every day. Just a suitable photo.

    Moonshine 2

I found something that was brightly lit, even at 23:30 on Day 19!
It was 3 days later than Moonshine 1

    Day 19: October 2010 PAD
    Nikon D5000 + Nikon 70-300mm VR: 1/1500s f/9.5 at 280mm iso800

I was still too lazy to get the tripod out

Following on from feedback last time - despite trying some at a lower iso; the best results were obtained at 800 iso with a faster shutter speed - I actually went through 4 separate 'shoot > review' cycles for this.

Exposure was also kept well down in camera so as not to blow any highlight, but then brought up under careful control in PP to enable optimum (I hope) LCE, as there are less edge lit craters, I was a bit more careful/subtle with the sharpening compared to Moonshine 1 too.

This is simply a cropped 100%, 650 pixel square from the middle of the frame.

    Cheers,

    Hi Katy,

    That's been well fiddled with

Took me a while to convince myself it wasn't a different shot, but I think I have it sussed now

I certainly like the better separation of foreground and background, but I'm not sure about the colour cast on the subject or the increased noise in the background. It is quite well cloned/blurred/smudged/whatever you did to it.

    Cheers,
