I do see patterns in my work and do come across similar moments. I will continue to work on this series.
I use Nik software for my B&W processing.

Yes, Izzie, I've heard and seen it in writing. It's my opinion that everyone believes in something whatever that may be, and prayer depends on how you define it.

Robert, you didn't have an opinion about the technical or emotional merits of the series, but seem to want to debate who does and doesn't pray. I think the community lounge would be a more appropriate area for that type of discussion.

Or another (non-photographic) site perhaps.

It's a difficult one, as photography as a narrative always will (or should) include stimulating discussion on the story being portrayed, it's just that this particular story is often a trigger for the airing of deeply held beliefs and values (on both sides).

A title can be very suggestive. It's the photographer making me to think in a certain way. When I analyze the pictures I can't see a direct act of praying, not clear anyway.
The first one is in a church. The man sitting has something in his hands and looks like reading it.
The second one is a guy reading his book, his head resting on his hands. I think a quite normal position when one is sitting on the floor like him.
The third one I don't understand. If it's praying, why does he pray with the bicycle between his legs?

I thought that was the purpose of a title, to suggest something. As I said earlier, prayer depends on how you define it.

The man is holding a folded American flag in his hand suggestive of someone who was killed in combat. He is offering up prayer to God.

The man sitting down has a bible in his lap and he was actively praying.

The third man rode up on his bike, got down, crossed himself, and began to pray.

Polarized sides on any issue usually waste their time debating anyway, so I wouldn't bother. I just stated a fact about my life. Nothing more.

I took the post by Izzie with the use of emoticons in the spirit of jest, but I know certain things can touch on sore spots. Thank you for making your point clear. I just didn't want the thread to be derailed by a heated debate.

In the Hispanic culture it is customary for some to cross themselves and pray whenever they pass a church. This particular individual rode up on his bike (In front of San Fernando Cathedral), offered his prayer and rode on.
