Jim, always difficult getting close and then getting a good angle, I'd say you managed both. There is very fine wing and leg hair detail as well. I suspect that you have a better image than you think and could bring out a lot more detail (and colour) in the damselfly if you 'ignore' the background.
My strategy would be to select the green background , invert the selection and work solely on the insect.
These Demoiselles are very difficult, Jim. Most of my attempts get ditched.
Unless you get a bit of overcast light from the correct angle you always end up with over exposed areas of highlights on the shiny surfaces and the colour will change depending on the light angle.
So this is a very good attempt. Nice pose and fine detail showing in the legs and wings.
Jim I really like this image. The leg hairs although tinny add a lot to the image.

That's nice Jim. It will sharpen up a bit and you could loose those highlight at the top of the wing but's a nice capture.
I love the image Jim. I would change the title as ' ballerina' (if female)
Very nice image Jim. The white areas on the top of the wings are not reflections. Many species of damselflies have these sort of colored regions on their wing tips. For this species, the white areas in your photo indicate that its a female you photographed.
Not your best effort but I can't replicate it -- damselflies are just flighty little things...bugs...insect...yours here is so pretty.
