Angry Sky
A severe thunderstorm produced this impressive shelf cloud on Wednesday evening. Sixty mph winds, small hail, torrential rain and a tornado warning accompanied this storm. I shot this with a new Sony a6500 with a Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 wide angle at 1/15 second at f/2.0 @ ISO 1600 handheld. Conditions were pretty dark so the image is noisy, most of which was eliminated in post processing. I adjusted the image in PS to give it a more dramatic and threatening appearance which matches my impression of the event.

Re: Angry Sky
Both of these are really dramatic and exceptionally well done, Paul. They serve as a good reminder that it has been way too long since you last posted.

All that I can say is Wow! We do not experience skies like this in Southern California...

Re: Angry Sky
Very angry sky, nice shots.
We have had some heavy storms hit Ohio this summer.

Re: Angry Sky
Beautiful shots both of them...I just wish you will separate your shots with a space in between.

Re: Angry Sky
An impressive cloud and impressive image. I have never heard of a 'shelf cloud' and I have certainly never seen one.
