Wine in one of three glasses

I've wanted a long time to make a photo in this style of a scene where empty wine glasses complement a glass with wine in it. I just never got around to making it happen until now. That's probably because though the image content is simple, making the photo is a tedious process both in my makeshift studio and while doing the post-processing.

The wine is a favorite Pinot Noir.

The entire image is in color; no part of it has been changed to monochrome.

    Setup
The tabletop is dark grey fabric laced with colorful, metallic flecks that create lots of tiny direct reflections (reflections of the light source). The background is black velvet that fills the frame, no more and no less. A small continuous-light lamp behind the background is facing the white wall behind it. The wall redirects the light toward the subjects and outlines them in bright tones. A black card with a rectangular hole placed in front of the lens eliminates flare. A second capture that lights the wine is made using a small continuous-light lamp fitted with a diffusion sock held above the wine. The wine from the second capture is merged with everything else in the first capture.

Good one. I think you placed the glasses just right for the tops of the glasses.

When photographing glasses with liquid in them, I almost always make a point of displaying the front and back of the liquid and the rims. That's because doing so makes the image appear more three-dimensional.
