    Lightning

Here are two captures from last night's thunderstorms taken from my driveway. I was inside my garage to protect my lens from water drops/mist (and myself). These are 30 second time exposures, manual mode, f/11 and ISO 100. I shot 150+ frames and got about ten with interesting lightning stokes. The milky appearance is from shooting through light rain. I color balanced on the clouds to remove the strong magenta appearance of the RAW files. I was surprised at the blue color branches that were not apparent during the lightning flash. Shot with a Sony a6500 and Rokinon 12mm wide angle.

    Re: Lightning

Thank you for your kind comments. Lightning is very dangerous. The temperature of the main lightning stroke is estimated to be about 50,000 degrees F (27,760 degrees C). I've been struck by lightning three times in 31 years of corporate flying (now retired). Some damage occurred in two of them. An exciting event!
