The bracket I wanted to try, is a different one: http://www.mengsphoto.com/portfolio_...ounting-screw/

I have been told that the Mengs MPU-105 bracket I linked to fits the Leica Q camera. The base leg appears to be too long, I think, I would probably need to modify the end of the base leg for access to battery and memory card. Like you say, a L-bracket is permanently attached to its camera. I have come across a different version of the MPU-105, but that other version has friction pads and the anti twist ridge is missing, thus it is not a real alternative for me.

    Thanks.

I have been aware of some grip-and-l-bracket products and I had one on a different camera, but I replaced it with an ordinary L-bracket (camera specific, from RRS). I might give that solultion a second chance on the Leica Q.
