B&W Abstract
This image is a close-up of the bowl of two wine glasses touching each other. It was captured in a vertical orientation and then rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
Setup
The background is black velvet. A small continuous-light lamp behind the background is facing a white wall behind it. The wall redirected the light toward the transparent subjects and outlined them in bright tones.

Re: B&W Abstract
Nice friction, at least that's what it looks like to me.

Re: B&W Abstract
Mike, I love it. Would a square format work? Just a thought.
Cheers Ole

Re: B&W Abstract
I like it very much Mike I think it is an image which might also work in some other ways like a square format as Ole mentioned or in the vertical format .

Re: B&W Abstract
Thanks, everyone!
John: I had not thought of friction but now that you have mentioned it, I also see that characteristic.
Binnur and Ole: Though I have made relatively few abstracts, my inclination is that the genre has more potential for successfully using a variety of crops and compositions than other genres. It's in that context that I'm sure your ideas about how to present the image would work well.

I love it. To me it looks like a wheel of some kind that is spinning, wouldn't have guessed that it was 2 wine glasses.
