    Mooring

Taken a few years ago, down at the docks on Lake Ontario, here in Toronto.
While walking around looking for human subjects, I spotted an interesting graphic on the side of a moored ship, and grabbed this photo.

again--interesting shot! Consider playing with cropping from the right to see if you feel it strengthens your concept by greater emphasis on the diagonal of the line.

    Judith,
    Thanks for the thoughtful critique.
This was cropped vertically (but not a great deal) from the original to eliminate some of our right side. I roughly used the Rule of Thirds to place the porthole, (the mooring line already running down to the bottom left corner (our left) in the original slide)).
While it could be further cropped just to our right of the two rivets at two and four o'clock, that eliminates the vertical trio of rivets to their right, which I quite like. On grounds of Personal Taste, this shot could easily be cropped a number of different ways.

Terrific color, lines, texture and shapes. It would also work well as a monochrome.

    Thanks Mike.
I never even thought of converting it to a monotone, mainly because I love the yellow-blue colour contrast.
I'll have to give it a whirl in Photoshop and see how I like that idea.
