Helpful Posts: Kumo spent all day sitting on top of Ottawa's Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica. Then after sunset, Kumo woke up and descended. Long Ma awakens tomorrow morning and then both will walk around downtown. I hope to be there to capture those events...
The images are of a giant mechanical spider developed by the French production company; La Machine. They build and perform with giant mechanical constructs; this giant spider is named Kumo and is based on Chinese mythology. The event is called the "Spirit of the Dragon Horse".
1. Shot was taken just before 22:00 (about an hour after sunset); ISO 8000... as Kumo descends from the top of the church.
2. This shot shows Kumo "resting" on top of the Basilica.
3. The team of human operators rappel down some ropes from another crane to reach Kumo
4. In this shot we can see 8 of the 12 operators that run Kumo as the giant mechanical spider continues its descent to the ground.

Is this a fun machine or used for construction and maintenance works at heights? some workers look like puppets...are they?
