Taking in the scenery

I had to sit in the car for an hour to let a storm pass over before walking up the moor to capture an image or two of "The Seated Figure" a piece of sculpture by Sean Henry, for some more detail this link takes you to the artists site LINK

As always your thoughts and comments are welcome.

John, it is on the North Yorkshire Moors. It was placed in June this year, I'm not sure how long it will be at this spot they may move it around. The artwork is on Brown Hill overlooking Westerdale. Blakey Rigg is below and behind me at this camera position. PM me if you require a NGR.

Just a fraction tight at the top for my tastes. Just a tiny bit extra would make a lot of difference and if necessary I would be willing to lose it from the bottom.

Otherwise a good composition and nice exposure.

Nicely composed. Maybe just a fraction tight on top. Odd spot for display of a sculpture.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment Dan. I have no idea why the National Park authorities chose the position for the sculpture. But I have to say he has a wonderful vista to look at.

I really like the third photo because of the sky and being able to view the statue from the front. It also bears a strong similarity with a good friend who died about 1 1/2 years ago.

That little bit of extra headroom has made so much difference to the image.

The dark sky scene doesn't show so much of the general landscape but I like it. It has a really moody effect.

Now I am back and saw the three images -- well, supposed to be two. The edit looks good with the extra head room. I can understand why whoever was commissioned to make this statue here, this was put here on this spot. It is a very nice view. You can really sit down here, like him...and see forever.

Thanks Izzie, Geoff and Grahame for looking and commenting. The statue seems to be attracting some attention locally. I've noticed a number of images of it on a number of photography forums and of course social media.
I may return and reshoot once the heather is in full bloom around the artwork.
