    One Summer's Day

I was out the other day as usual, hunting insects, I was after Dragonflies, and while I did see a few there was no way they were staying still for me.

I was at Charlescote Park a National Trust property, it was sunny, and very hot. The ornamental borders in the gardens were quite spectacular, with butterflies and bees doing that thing they do, hunting pollen and nectar, and getting frisky as well.

It was one of those bright days that really stick in the memory, I can remember them from years back when I was a lot younger, and I realised I'd never actually tried to photograph a summer's day.

So, I stopped chasing the dragons, and set about trying, simply, to capture the light and mood of .... 'One Summer's Day'

The images are at the link below since TinyPic does not appaer to be working for me this last few days.

    C&C welcome always

Thanks Les, I only intended to post 3, but with TinyPic playing up it meant linking to my Google Drive.
It ended up a good day.
They say shooting on a bright sunny day is not too good... the light is too harsh, everything is washed out or too contrasty, etc...but I have never bought into the concept of 'bad' light .

I have google drive or something and One Drive (Microsoft) but I still have to learn how to use it after set up...this is good...I think. Being able to share all right then and there is nice. All your shots are very nice...I particularly like two of them -- the sillouette and the solo thistle with a bug (bee) on it...

Superb. Impossible to pick a favorite. Darn near poetic

Good mix of flowers and insects. The Banded Demoiselle is a good shot of a difficult subject.

Butterflies are mostly Brimstone or Gatekeepers with possibly a couple of Meadow Brown also in one image.

Thankyou Brian, that is a compliment worth having, and yes it was one of those day's about which the English Romantics eulogise. I even ......'wandered, lonely as a cloud'

I enjoyed these. Some really good individual images and taken as a whole, it's Summer. Nice idea. Tiny Pic probably did you a favour. Three images wouldn't have worked nearly so well.
