Roof line - USA Embassy - Ottawa

The USA Embassy in Ottawa is in the downtown area right off the Byward Market. Architecturally, it is a striking building, but at night, it really stands out. This is a shot of the roof line taken from a park that is just west of the embassy.

Nicely done. Putting that new camera though its paces?

Can't say I'm thrilled that our state department is spending my tax dollars on such architecture. Then again providing you with photo ops may be one of the most useful things they've done in quite some time.

Not only is the architecture intersting, but the Embassy is actually a building inside a building. What we see from the outside is a shell that isolates the interior structures via a significant air gap.

That makes perfect sense. We build a bomb proof structure in Canada and in high risk countries we just lease something that's available. I guess we don't want to offend those who may actually want to blow up our embassy by building a fortress in their midst. Or perhaps you guys dislike your southern neighbors more than I thought?

Nicely seen and captured. The shot wouldn't have been as interesting and dramatic taken during daylight.
