This photo was captured using a 90mm macro lens and a 36mm extension tube. The scene is a tiny portion of this broken wine bottle. EDIT: To put "tiny" into perspective, the projection onto the APS-C sensor is about 40% larger than the physical scene. A slight crop was made purely to fine-tune the composition.
Setup
The background is white translucent acrylic. A small continuous-light lamp behind the background shines toward the subject and camera. That set up outlines the edges of glass and other areas in dark tones. The image was then rotated 180 degrees.
