La Machine - Kumo operators

While the light was far from ideal, I wanted to capture the people that operated these magnificent machines.

In many ways, these shots have almost a Steampunk look to them and after some very heavy burning and dodging (the bright mid-day sun was not my friend), I think I got what I wanted.

Fascinating series of images (and threads) Manfred - especially to anyone with an interest in engineering (like me).

Particularly like #4 with the guy apparently tapping the (pressure) gauge glass to ensure the needle hasn't stuck
