La Machine - the musicians

This is my last La Machine post. The entire show of the giant machines were accompanied by live music. In order to be at the same level, the musicians were driven around on top of fork lifts and mobile elevated platforms. The event wrapped up last night.

I only shot on the first two days of the event. The crowd numbers now been published; 35,000 were out on Thursday and between 150,000 and 200,000 on each of the following days. Tough conditions to shoot under for sure!

I have not previously commented on any of the photographs in the series but I have enjoyed them very much.

What a fantastic event to be at. I envy you being there but am glad you have made good use of the opportunity and imagine you had a wonderful time.

This wouldn't be the theatre company, based in Nantes, France (http://www.lamachine.fr/)?
There they (or a company of the same name) started with constructing a giant Elephant, and a carrousel with a marine theme (of course, in the city of Jules Verne).
Now they have a project for a tree, with lots of sub-projects around it

It is indeed the same group. This was on the name plate for the dragon-horse's wings.
