The 'shieldbug' isn't actually a shieldbug, Les.
Deraeocoris ruber one of the Capsid Bugs. They come in a variety of colour forms but mostly like this one or chiefly black with just a couple of red spots.

I agree with Nandy -- the butterfly is awesome -- I can almost touch it. Good separation from the background there. I like #2 too, but not as much as #1.
