Agreed, nice portraits.
Looks like you were talking to #1 pup with its head tilted that way s/he is listening...it's the eyes and that face's expression that will get me to take that one. The black ones are cuties too....I like black dogs...must be a habit for me to like black dogs. I always have white dogs when I was growing up but when I started living alone, I always get big black dogs... Just to be different? Who knows? But that black one is my favourite.
Oh my God! They are so cute
Izzie...
I always talk to my dogs when I am talking their portraits. However, I think that in this case, the cocked head was the result of using a squeak toy to get her attention
Binnur...
Thanks. We are being overwhelmed with applications for these puppies...
Carmela, a Maltese-Poodle was adopted by a loving lady today.
We have really become close to this young dog who had a terrible start in life. She had been thrown from a moving car and her leg was fractured as well as a large lesion in her shoulder from where she hit the road. It must have been a man who mistreated her. When we received her last March, she was in a cast and was terrified of me.
It took the longest time before I could convince her that I'd never hurt her. However, we eventually became great buddies. I miss Carmela but, we can't keep every dog with whom we fall in love...
We really count Carmela as one of our greatest success stories. It's a wonderful feeling for me when I bring around a dog who is terrified of me to become a loving pet...
When we first got Carmela, she would not come near me as I was giving our other dogs their night-time treat. I would throw the treat to Carmela who would miss it and another dog would get it. She finally learned that she had to come near me to get the treat, At first she would snatch it and run but, eventually lost her fear of me.
We just got an email from her new mom and apparently Carmela is really getting close to her. That is great because, she just adopted Carmela today...

Great news, I hope Carmela will have a happier and luckier life One day, I would like to be in the same car with the man who threw her away !
Binnur,
I would guess that he would not be sharing the car for too long of a time

Richard that is good news for Carmela. Continue the good work on your rescue. They are too much work at times but the benefit of a good feeling outweighs the emotional feelings when they get a new parent/s who will love them for the rest of their lives.
Binnur...I guess the guy who threw little Carmela out of the car will not have a chance to live if you share his car for a second. In some way, he will pay for his misdeeds and cruelty not only to Carmela but also those whom he had abused too.
All five of Cookies puppies and Candy's singlet puppy have adoptive families who will be picking them up starting this Wednesday.
Candy was adopted at an event today and we had several people very interested in Cookie but, they were not quite up to our standards. Cookie is a very active and athletic dog and we have decided that we will restrict her adoption to where she will have a yard for exercise. We think that adopting this young dog to apartment dwellers, especially those who work full time will not be giving Cookie the best chance for a successful home.
We are pretty strict about the standards for our adoptive families. As my wife says, we are here for the dogs; to ensure that the get the best SECOND CHANCE possible...
Cookie and four of her five puppies went to their new homes today. The puppies got vet clearance yesterday...
Cookie and two of her puppies are going to neighbors who are friends and they will see each other often...
Oreo and his sister Lorna Doone (now called Maizie) are also going to great homes.
Snickerdoodle's new family will pick her up tomorrow.
THAT'S SIX FOR SIX

Congratulations!!!! and thank God for people like you and your wife who cared for them before they were adopted. Salud!
Great news and wonderful photos!
They're so cute, are they siblings?
Yes, they are siblings. Cookie came to us pregnant and the pups were born in our house. We were lucky to have Cookie for a bit of time before she ha her pups so she was used to us and trusted us with the puppies.
All the puppies, except Snickerdoodle (we gave them all cookie names) along with Mama Cookie were adopted and were picked up on Wednesday. Snickerdoodle was picked up on Thursday. While I was waiting for Snickerdoodle to be picked up by her new family, I did one last shot of her...
I changed the background to a teal color but, before I could shoot, the new family arrived and she became too excited to shoot...
