1 Week or so to go!
They were both 'going out' tonight, so I wanted a picture of them 'dressed up' together....I had my props and reflector etc all ready, but they only gave me 2 mins..... then they were gone so this isn't exactly what I wanted.
The problem of the young 1 being 6ft and the old 1 4ft 11.....posed it's own challenges - thank goodness for her heels
This cockerel is very aggressive; he will attack me whenever he sees me. Those two inch long spikes on the back of his feet aren’t for show either, he has drawn blood when he’s managed to connect with my legs.
I grabbed this shot and retreated before he got any closer.
60mm macro lens, 1/60th of a second at f8, ISO200 and a bit of assistance from my mate Phil Flash
That is certainly a bird with attitude, Tim.
Before the days of modern antibiotics, cockerel attacks caused the death of many farmers wives. Feeding the chickens was usually part of their daily duties and a wound from those spurs easily became infected.
Farmers normally wore leather gaiters which gave them protection from this and many other nasty potential problems.
Oh, Peter, the best bit of visiting here is the security check. All those nice Welsh ladies carressing your inside leg with a scanner, and you can't beat the phrase "He's clean!" with a Cardiff accent. That's a very good shot actually - far better than I have managed. That ceiling seems to absorb light like a black hole. Well done.

My PAD album for October 2010
Created on a black glass chopping-board in the kitchen. Strip lighting via 'underlighters of kitchen cabinets. Light diffused with a mesh screen from my fold-up reflector.
A Welsh ceiling...
Theres nice Boyo. Beautifully framed Peter.
It rained off and on today, so I did rainy day shots from my very small covered porch. There are two shots, both made with my E-620 and 18-180mm Zuiko lens at 180mm. The first is just the porch rail with rain drops and second is some leaves.
This is the rainy rail shot at f/7.1 @ 1/25
This is some Snakeroot blossom-stem leaves shot at f/7.1 @ 1/20. These leaves are particularly interesting since even after a couple of light frosts they refuse to turn fully.

Thanks Rob, no caressing went on and not a Welsh lady in sight ...fabulous building, sat there with a coffee just gazing about the place and of course out over the bay...curiously it felt a bit like Cape Town...funky buildings, lots of space, waterfront..no sea lions though...
Thought I'd make use of the shadow from the flash today (well yesterday now), might post more later as the model was quite co-operative - if a little static

This is a head on shot of the same sort of (T-shaped) moth I posted on Day 12 PAD.
Hi Dave,
very interesting shot I like it, the shadow has real menace. ...
"the model was quite co-operative - if a little static"..probably because it had consumed half your wardrobe and couldn't take off ?
So can you experiment with different backgrounds, maybe curving up behind the beast to sharpen the shadow? Or are you running out of clothes?
