    Slow Shutter Speed

I shot a series on this drummer...
    Slow Shutter Speed
He was putting so much energy into his performance that I decided to try some images with slow shutter speeds to accentuate the movement and energy. They were shot using between 70mm and 115mm on a crop 7D camera...

Nice efforts, the best ones are those with the lead drummer having some level of acceptable sharpness.

Really difficult to capture. He was hopping around as well as banging in the drum...

When I was in Istanbul, I wanted to shoot a Sufi Dancer (Whirling Dervish) performance using a slow shutter speed. But, I couldn't find a performance at a convenient time and place.

    Yes, I'd agree.

A great opportunity to study the effect of slow shutter, and the opportunity to make some excellent images.

Nice set Richard, movement in portraiture is an excellent dimension to add and tricky too, I also like your top pick.

Mine too. Enjoyed these for all the reasons already mentioned by the others.

    Re: Slow Shutter Speed

Thank you all... Although I have been snapping the shutter on various cameras for more years than I care to remember, I have not often tried deliberately shooting with a slow shutter speed. IT'S NOT AS EASY AS IT SEEMS
