    A couple of abstracts

So, took Mike's advice and tried some of the setups in Light Science and Magic. Bit hit and miss for my first attempts, mainly with physically setting up the lights and flags !
One thing that did make me scratch my head was the Blue reflections I kept getting, eventually I found it was leaking Daylight which was registering as Blue because I had put the camera on Tungsten White balance (!) so in the end I made the colour work for me in some abstracts rather than desaturating it , so I guess I learned something new today - great book too.

All of these are really nice, John, and it's great to see that you used dark and bright backgrounds and transparent and translucent subjects. Great separation between subject and background in all images. The blue tones are really attractive and you now realize that you can endlessly change white balance or introduce color casts to make an image more artistic than documentary.

Thanks Bill and Mike, just noticed I posted smugmug-downsized photos, not best quality, so another learning experience.
Yes, a happy accident and one I will try to master and control for next time.
