Both are great captures, John. Excellent work! I particularly like the one-legged stance of the bird in the second photo.

Thanks all for the additional comments. Photographing nature came late to me but I must admit that a few hours in the countryside looking for subjects has become a favourite pastime.

Thanks John. I had forgotten that I also have that grayscale file stored on my computer. It shows all 20 shades as a very even distribution.

Dave, I only use edge and IE - IE because unlike edge, you can still use it to create shortcuts. Edge has the option in the drop down menu to open the same WEB site in IE in parallel and when I do and switch between the two, I can't detect the differences that you see. I don't have the other two browsers loaded currently and so I can't see how they compare.

Very sharp and clear shots John. I have no problem with the BG of #2, it looks green on my monitor

I read this response on my mailbox and forgot to put it back to unread but I know I have a response to this. The new monitor I cough up $$$ for is also an ASUS Eyecare series. I thinks your monitor came with its own calibration software. Did you use that? I am still using my Spyder Elite Studio, a remnant of my last pooter access before it died.

Izzie - Yes John R said the same thing. It got me wondering why since many of us calibrate our monitors. I use an ASUS Pro Art Graphics monitor set to sRGB. My cameras are also set to sRGB. This is a left over from when I used to do a lot competition work because that is the recommended colour profile but it reminded me that some time ago there was a discussion about the merits of sRGB Vs Adobe RGB for posting on the forum. I can't remember which was recommended for the Forum so I may not be using the right one - or at least not the same one as you.

Izzie, the ProArt range come pre calibrated and have a rep for total sRGB accuracy. I also use a Spyder Elite but I never had to make any adjustments during the first few years and so it is some time since I checked. That and the fact that it must be aging, made me begin to wonder but others seem to be seeing the same thing as me - which is comforting.
