A Walk around Venus - Insects

Trying out the new Olympus lens and the weather was set fair for once so off to my favourite site near Shrewsbury part of Shropshire Ornithological Society's reserves, Venus Pool.
The fields near the pool are managed to provide food for seed and insect eating birds so what better subjects to photograph.

Very nice set. The burnet moth looks rather faded. Is that just an ageing individual? (I know how it feels!) I have oonly seen them earlier in the year.

Have enjoyed viewing these, John, particularly the lacewing.

Yes, I guess so, the colour reproduction is accurate to my recollection, almost bronzed black compared to pristine moths. The red spots are similarly faded.
