The Never Ending Game

A game of chess that will go on to eternity. This statue set stands outside of the Ramsey Courthouse on the Isle of man. To quote a local WEB site "The sculpture depicts two Norse Kings of Mann and the Isles each having an association with Ramsey, the Viking warrior Godred Crovan and his son and great statesman King Olaf." I don't know what the connection with the game of chess is. The early evening light seemed to bring them to life (if that's not too fanciful).

Izzie, the figures are bronze and virtually mono. The only real colour was in the BG and I thought that it would distract from the main subject. Also, I try to alternate between colour and mono in my posts and I was running short of mono images.

as strange as this may sound I didn't notice the lack of colour. To me the bg is in shadows and the sculpture may be monochromatic but it isn't black and white. More of a charcoal chocolate

Brian, I generally apply a soft sepia to my mono images. Just personal preference.
