I like the way that the arc of flowers frames the butterfly and adds just the right nice splash of colour.

Not necessarily. I usually like to include some background to provide context, usually habitat or food (nectar) plant.

A beautiful butterfly Jim. I like the shot , the BG is a bit busy but the butterfly is so beautiful that it dominates the scene
