Vintage Steam Engines
Not the photo I wanted to post but Tinypic fails to upload color photos for me and so I'm posting this to spite them...

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
That is a fine shot of a beautifully restored steam traction engine. I spent last weekend at a local steam show with these and other antique machines, wheat threshing, sawmill, pony brake. I shot mostly video to capture the action and sound of these engines at work. It is one of summer's highlights for me. My Dad was a water boy for these during threshing in the 1920's.

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Well it's a good subject to be presented in B/W, Marie. Nice shot.

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Thank you Paul. There was a steam show that day and I just happened upon the participants as they were about to head to the show from an hotel carpark where they had spent the previous night - not the best place to shoot them with parked cars etc in the background. It's a pity I can't upload color images as they were all beautifully restored and, yes, one dated back to 1923.

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Thank you Dan. I had also converted it to Sepia but Tinypic didn't like it or my color images...!!

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Nice conversion Marie and a nice shot. Pity about the sepia. It would have fitted the subject.

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Thank you John and yes, I thought the sepia looked more the part. I actually shot that image in B/W and PP it a little. I see that you are also a Fuji user and admire your work. Having enjoyed the x100s, I upgraded to a used X-Pro1 to try and improve my photography with an interchangeable lens system and still trying to get to grips with all its functions.

Thank you Binnur. Check out my reply to Mike under Tinypic - all very frustrating. I think it's like using a Roulette wheel to get lucky with an upload using Tinypic ...

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Nice image, Marie. It reminds me of the steam tractors I photographed a couple of years ago.
From my location, TinyPics seems to be working just fine (right now), even in colour.

Re: Vintage Steam Engines
Aaaah Manfred, you must have some fairy dust you sprinkled on your PC or maybe they enjoy your choice of wines as they are still annoyed with me and not uploading any more of my images....
