    2 Big Cats

I took my camera for a ride today and came up with these two beauties.

The second one is visible, nicely captured. Were both images the same size when you uploaded, I was able to post one image today using Tinypic but I had to downsize.

I kinda like the bluish metal colour of #1 and #2 is more visible with the gold paint. Is #1 a Rolls Royce?

They are both 1953 Jaguar sedans with left drivers side, hence made for the United States market. The silver one retains the original paint where the gold was painted. The car was not offered in the gold color at that time. The gold paintjob detracts from its authenticity but a beautiful car nonetheless.

I knew a fella who had a silver Mk 7, which I think was a '51 or '52, and he drove the daylights out of it. Quiet, fast, flat in the turns, great handling car for the era. The polished aluminum valve/engine covers and all the other polished aluminum appointment under the bonnet were spectacular, and I loved the smell of the red leather interior . . . The silver-blue one brings back memories.

Thanks for the memory, and for sharing.

Our neighbour across the road used to be the President in the Jaguar club. He has two vintage era Jags but it was no where near the beauty of the first one.
