This looks like part of your train setup. I think if you put this ON the train it will show your wife's garden? Just guessing...

Yes, it's for making videos from the trains point of view. Not much to see in the garden these days Izzie. The volunteer plants in the 'flower box' got pulled a couple weeks ago as they'd grown, flourished and were dying out with the heat of the summer. So it's empty at the moment and all we have are succulents in pots and the roses and lavender. Not much color wise.
Tiny pic isn't cooperating this morning so I can't show you a picture.

Straight out of the camera.
Still need to work on camera angle a tad bit.
High CG of the camera tips over easily in the corners.
This was made without the socket on the car as I'd lowered the mounting. Need to find some skinnier ballast weight.

I guess I need to work on this a little more....

The lower you can get the lens axis (to the track), assuming this is out front and being pushed along, the greater the impression of speed will be.

Of course, if this is at that lens height to see over the loco and perhaps some intervening trucks or carriages, then yes, lower just the C of G. Could you get some heavy sheet steel on the underside of truck perhaps?
