These plants (with or without flowers) were growing at the top of a sandy shore. This was Plat Saline, on the north coast of Alderney in the Channel Islands (off the coast of France, not California). They all display the glaucus (greeny-blue-grey) colour because of the thick cuticle to keep the water in.
