Strange thing is I absolutely don't like spiders and I'm scared of any that are bigger than a pea. That said, I find that the challenge of trying to get a decent macro shot of one somehow overrides my fear. But......if one was to jump onto my lens while shooting I would probably drop the camera. This one is only about 5mm long so I felt safe


Eight eyes is enough I would think. Imagine the cost of glasses should he need them.

Two nice shots Dave. I know how you feel. One lowered itself down from the ceiling the other evening and hung between me and the monitor. Must have appreciated CiC's good photography. Apparently the unseasonably cool weather in the UK this year is driving them indoors.

Good shots, the eyes came out well.

Not short of spiders here in rural Texas, Dave. Some of them up to about 90mm leg spread.

Just to add to the fun, we've got scorpions too, not lethal but certainly packing a painful sting.

I share your dislike for arachnids. In that first shot it looks absolutely sinister. But nicely captured.
