    Bumblebee exit a squash flower

We have a volunteer squash (gourd, really) plant in our garden that bumblees love. They climb in headfirst--usually two, sometimes three at a time--and sit there for a long time, eating. I finally got a shot of one that had turned around to leave. Above her you will see part of the image of another one, still head-in.

    C&C welcome, as always.

I actually want to touch that bee "fur". Excellent detail.

I am about to go to my hair stylist in the morning, you think I will look good in that hairstyle? Good shot, Dan.I would say, I'd rather put that flower in my casserole instead, no bees.

Great shot. You normally think of bees having an effete diet of pollen and nectar, but looking at the jaws on that one, it ain't necessarily so!

Thanks, all. It's been a great year for bumblebees in my neck of the woods--reassuring, after a bad year last year. They are benign little creatures.
