    Lotus flowers

Invasive and incredibly prolific, these blanket the water at a local bird refuge. The leaves are huge; they look a bit like green elephant ears. In any case, the processing of this one doesn't sit right with me, but I haven't yet figured out why, and it's too late to make more revisions tonight. Best in litebox. Comments most welcome.

Thanks for your thoughts about it.

The post-processing looks fine to me, Dan, as do the elements of the composition. Having said that, unless there is a special reason for documenting the scene, it's not a special image for me unlike so many of your images.

IMO a tighter shot might be more effective. Eliminating the trees at top of frame could give the impression of an endless see of the plants as well as putting more emphasis on the lovely reflection. But I tend to default to tighter comps due to my comfort level shooting longer glass. So take the comment for what it's worth.

Thanks for the comments. Here's a crop, along the lines suggested by Dan and Binnur:

    Lotus flowers

Better, I think. I was trying to keep more of the contrasting horizontal lines. I find this sort of thing quite hard. I have taken a lot of shots of this setting over the years, and none has managed to capture how striking it looks.

The crop looks better Dan I would even crop the thin band of green at the top.
