    Waterfall attempt

Along a hike with hubs and the labs.
Harsh sunlight, so I don't think this was successful, but I did like the mist, stairs and greenery.
Maybe an ND filter would have helped.

    Waterfall attempt

    Thanks for looking

I agree about the sun lite but I still would of tried to get a photo.
That area is just to scenic not to try and get a picture of it!

Really a nicely composed scene, Sharon. Typically I'm not fond of significant objects being cut off by the frame but in this case the stairs work IMO. They add to the story without becoming too big of a player in the scene. You did a good job of handling the harsh lighting with PP. If anything to result may be a bit too much of an HDR effect but not so much to spoil the scene. Overall a nice scene. Was this in Olympic NP?

I like everything about the composition. The blue tones in the mist look so unusual to my eye that they make me wonder if you added them during post-processing. Consider adding a little more mid-tone contrast to make the scene appear richer.

    Re: Waterfall attempt

    Thank you Bob, Dan, Mike.
Dan, I did go back and forth in terms of including the all of the steps, and not, but they were so wide I felt they threw it off balance. This was in the Baker/Snoqualamie National forest area. We were doing a hike with our labs.
Mike, I may have taken the blue tones a bit far trying to compensate some for too much sun on the scene. Nice eye

Sharon...at least remove the 's' in the hub comment. Nice shot. Good composition. I see a doggie face in the waterfall. Cute. Overall it is a good shot for a try. Now the next waterfall will be better presented than this one, and the next one, and the next one...the mist here is very nice too.

My thoughts also. Boosting the mid tones makes a big difference. The composition is on the mark though.
