    Wow! very sharp. Your shield bug is green. I suppose the name is different too. What we have here are the stink bugs and they are brown in colour.

    It is actually called a Green Shieldbug, Izzie. There are many colour forms of shieldbugs and similar insects. Some are quite striking, while others are a rather plain brown or greyish colour.

    The butterfly is a Speckled Wood.

    What lens were you using, as the exif is 105mm. Was it a 24-105?

    No Ken its a Sigma 105mm 2.8 macro lens

    Thank you John -- it is a very nice colour sort of iridescent green. The colouring of the shield must be area to area...
