Saare Lighthouse
This lighthouse was built by the USSR on a spit that is the southern tip of Saaremaa Island, Estonia in 1960. On the camera left side is the Baltic Sea and on the right, the Gulf of Riga.
During the days of the USSR, Saaremaa Island was a restricted area with Soviet military bases; unless one had relatives on the island, Estonian's could not visit the place. I find it interesting that all the lighthouses I saw on Saaremaa are predominantly painted black.
The one thing I learned from my previous trip to this part of the world is that a perspective correcting lens makes composing shots like this one a lot easier, so I have my Nikkor f/3.5 24mm PC-E lens along this time.

Re: Saare Lighthouse
Who doesn't like a good lighthouse shot? And this is a nice one. Judging by the relationship to the building that is one massive tower. Nice job.

Re: Saare Lighthouse
Very nice. It is typical of the old Soviet militaristic appearance.

Re: Saare Lighthouse
Nicely captured, I sometimes like the perspective distortion but normally do a correction just to see the difference. As long as there isn't any keystoning I'm partially ok. The perspective in this shot still captures the height which gives it a nice dynamic feel.
