Grace in Fall Colors Then and Now

Recently I've been doing some work on cataloging in LR. I saw a photo of Grace in fall colors when she was just short of two years old. Since fall colors are in swing right now it inspired me to take a similar shot of her now as she nears age 6.

    1) Shot yesterday just outside our bedroom window. Yes I know it's the classic tree sticking out of the head shot but there were squirrels nearby so I only had seconds to deal with before she bolted. Nikon D810, 70-200f4@135mm, 1/320s, f5.6, ISO900.

    2) Four years ago near our previous home. Nikon D800E, 70-200f2.8@160mm, 1/500s, f2.8, ISO800

it's not only of human beiing's face change with time; Grace changed much within two years; lovely images

Nice set of images, the tree isn't that distracting as the colors are muted and the width is wide enough to not give illusion of being connected to the pup.

So true, Nandakumar. It is said that eyes are windows to the soul. I find that the wisdom/worry/fatigue/pain that comes with age can be seen in the eyes of all mammals. But when we play, a hint of the puppy still shows in Grace's eyes. Hopefully there's still a glint in my own as well

The tree is not all that distracting, and given the circumstances I would accept it. I don't know if cloning a leaf and cropping would do anything. Minor problem given the great shot

Grace has a good expression no matter what. Her eyes speaks volumes and if you notice, she has grown regal too.

That's a beautiful hound Dan and you have done her justice. I think you could afford a crop from the top to lessen the impact of the tree trunk but it would only be a finishing touch.

Captivating dog, Dan, and I love the surround! The first one has the most impact to me.
