Exeter Cathedral - The Martyr's Pulpit

A recent addition to the Cathedral in 1877, the pulpit was constructed from a type of sandstone, the carvings in the stone panels depicting stories of Christian martyrdom. It is illuminated by the natural light from a north-facing window to the left.

Wonderful nice capture why closed stair? What is key down stair?

Colours are nicely muted. Maybe get rid of the pillar on the right. That is only my opinion.

Vaez, I suspect the rope is to deter visitors from climbing into the pulpit; I suppose they are concerned that it might be damaged.
