Kaunus Castle

Kaunus Castle is a significant landmark in Lithuania's second largest city, Kaunus.

The castle is a ruin (caused by rivers flooding), but the remaining parts have been nicely restored.


1. In this shot, in the permanent display, I decided to get down to nose level with a bear skin rug lying there among the other exhibits.






2. Not a particularly exciting shot, but this is an exterior view of the castle ruins. Many castles in this part of the world are brick construction.

Nice set, that bear rug looks odd; perhaps its the lack of shadow underneath as it makes it looked pasted in the image. I see a bit of shadow on the RHS in relation to the window, did you lighten the shadows in PP?

I do a bit of burning and dodging in virtually all my work. I got into that habit in my wet darkroom days.

If it worked for Ansel Adams, why wouldn’t it work for me?
