Good looking lad! However, I am not keen on shots in which only one eye is in focus as is #1. My aim in using selective focus is to place emphasis on the area that is in focus. When I see an image with one eye in focus and one eye out of focus, the OOF eye attracts my attention and detracts from the image on a whole.
However this is just my personal opinion.
If I were going to shoot at f/2.8 with a 135mm focal length, I would either stop down a bit to get both eyes in focus or pose the subject so that both eyes are on just about the same plane.
Of course, using a smaller f/stop usually requires adding some lighting and or raising the ISO...
