Helpful Posts: An early autumn visit to my favorite forest preserve. Strong afternoon sidelight highlights the bark texture on the hickory trees against mature pine trees. Still too early for Fall color here and so far, it looks like it won't be very colorful this year. C&C welcomed.
About 500 feet to the left of this scene is a Bald Eagle nest built last winter. I'm curious if it will be occupied this winter (hope so). We see a pair of resident BE's near here each week. Majestic birds!
