    'Tis the Season

    Day 29: October PAD

Canon 50D, EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, f/12, 1/60s, ISO 100. Two flashes in a lightbox-style setup. Full EXIF, PAD slideshow.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, it's time for sniffles. My daughter just had a nasty flu, so I'm commemorating it with a shot of NyQuil.

    C&C are always welcome.

    Cheers,
    Rick

    Day 29

I agree that a series of Kay's 7 deadly sins would be great.

Peter - I've been thinking about corrugated iron (I know, a strange thing to think about) and you've beaten me to it! I think searching out old sheds is a project potential.

Thanks Rob, Katy and Steve. I had fun with PP on this rose and I'm really happy with the effect.

    Tim - love it!

Katy - I'm a sucker for animal shots. But I like the perspective with the shed.

Rick - I love the colour and the simplicity.

Rick - I love the light & the 'bubble' on the top of the tabs, plus this is my favourite colour so I'm biased, but the 'tis the season' really goes well with it for me - cos the tabs are for flu, but the colour is the traditional 'tis the season' of christmas colour......ooops sorry waffling again ....a bloke would have just said 'Great shot'

p.s We hope your daughter recovers quickly!

Hi Raylee, I really like the subject, position and desatuated look. Great shot.

When I get my hay loft finished you should visit the farm on one of your Melbourne visits. There are plenty of shots around the old stable block and shearing sheds and yards.

Thanks everyone. I meant to say yesterday that Raylee’s rose looked like chocolate and good enough to eat; great shot.

    Day 29: October PAD

This is one of the photos I took at Leeds castle the day before. Snooty animals, peacocks!!

It's just a small little cheat as I forgot to
    a) put batteries in the camera, and
    b) take the camera with me to work

Thanks, Raylee. I like the monocolor, and it's something I haven't done much of - something to explore.

No waffling, Kay: you make perfect sense. The bright green of NyQuil has always struck me as just being too perky for words, and the opposite of how I feel when I encounter it. I suppose that's intentional, to try to improve the patient's mood, but it's a total failure with me. And that incongruity is part of the point.

My daughter is doing much better, thanks.

    Cheers,
    Rick

Very nice, Kay. I love the highlights on the chocolate - it looks so rich that gluttony can be excused. In fact, the entire layout looks like an apologia for gluttony. Very well done.

    Cheers,
    Rick

    Making a splash

Taken on Day 30, but slipped in here on Day 29 as I didn't get a chance to get out on Friday - and I have another shot, from a different session, for Day 30.

And the shot I missed, or more correctly, mucked up; just before touch down, with a gorgegeous, but decapitated, reflection
