The tale of a Door & The Guardian. C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It was clicked in Jodhpur, On the door it is written "Darwaja" i.e Door in Hindi language (mother tongue of india)

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops.

    Thank You

    Hi Raj,

First of all, I like the shot. I like the color. I don't know if it is meant to be funny, but a door labeled "door" makes me laugh and is certainly worth taking a picture of.

As for improvements, unless there is a connection between the drawing on the wall and the door which I am missing, they are competing against each other for focus. What is the subject; the door, the drawing or the relationship between the two? If it is the door or the drawing, find a way to make that more clear, possibly eliminating one or the other. If it is the relationship between the two, then it is entirely possible it's just a cultural connection I am missing.

    Hope that helps.

Nicely exposed, the door is a lesser element as the script and sketch are prominently displayed; following those elements the blues fit nicely within the composition.

The colour and texture are great, Raj, but I agree with Mike as to the composition.

As presented, there do seem to be two subjects competing for the viewer's attention. If it were mine, I would be tempted to cheat to make a new photo with a relationship between the two, by reflecting the guardian so he is facing the door.

    Cheers.

So crisp and simple. I like it just the way it is. Without the guardian I would find it much less interesting.
