And I love the image.

Looking through all my images, those that stand out to me and being very good are those that are minimalist. I didn't see this until I happened upon an online magazine 'Minimalism' (https://minimalismmag.com/). The penny suddenly dropped and I have got as new enthusiasm for photography.

I was getting stuck and was not making the images that I wanted, but I didn't know what these were. Now I have stumbled upon it, I have a renewed verve for photography.

Really well done Just enough detail remaining in the surrounding mist (?) to captivate the viewer, keep rewarding attention, but not detract from the main subject.

Very nicely done image Robin. I agree with what Brian said "being able to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what he wasn't seeing". I want to keep coming back and looking at the image, because I really like it, but, also to see if I see something else in it that I might have missed. Hope this makes sense.

The shot is of a rock stack that sits just off some local cliffs. At high tide it is under water and pops out nearer low tide, you sometimes see a random seal using it to sunbathe.

The pale surrounding is a 30 second exposure of the waves that I 'high keyed' with Nik SEP2 leaving just a tiny hint of their blurred structure. The final tweak was to select the edges of the image, feather the selection a good few pixels and delete it so the sea just fades away.

Love this. I also have a fondness for this type of photography. If I had to choose one most interesting this would be it.
