    Day 30: October 2010 PAD

    Just 2 days to go

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep up with the grueling PAD shooting schedule, although I have shot over 1000 frames this month, including a 600+ frame shoot in the studio yesterday with Ashley and Kayla. It was also the first time I've got to use my new lightbox which gives a nice "under-lighting" look (which personally I like). In this shot I mixed it with some fill light and a couple of gridded "kicker" lights pointed back at the camera.

I've posted a few more here if any one's interested.

    Re: Day 30 Rain

Huge rain front going through today. We have had nearly 2.5 inches in 6 hours. I think the drought is almost broken.

Did you hear the sad story of a bloke named Artie. He killed two people by choking them to death, and only got $1. Headlines read

    "Artichokes, two for a dollar"

Basil waits patiently on the quayside while his trained human performs some simple maintenance tasks on their boat.

    The Hop Farm

    Day 30: October 2010 PAD

I had a lovely day driving round the Kent countryside. Stopped off at The Hop Farm Shop (not The Hop Farm which is famous, this is the other Hop Farm) on the way home for some "essential" supplies...

Had trouble uploading to my PAD album so have linked to Tinypic...

    The fallen

I found this in a leafy lane today. I was impressed with the way the light shone through from the rear.

Nice shot Mel. I think it could be a bit stronger if you cropped of the top at the tree top level.

This has been moored in Windsor for a few weeks now, it's in a shady spot (at this time of year) due to tall quayside buildings and trees. I just caught it in some low, late afternoon sunshine.

I had to clone out quite a few reflective banded bollards in the roadway to get a picture without too many bright distractions. A wider aperture would've helped a little with the background.

Quite an open boat, I'd guess it is a fair weather ferry or site-seeing vessel, certainly where it is moored now, that's probably what it is used for, although I've not seen it in use.

Well that was my guess, a quick google found a history here; http://www.adls.org.uk/t1/content/fe...y-silver-queen

Very nice effect, Colin: I like it, too. Very well done.
