West Sands, St Andrews
Along at the far end of the West Sands you get a lovely view back into the town. However, the spray was adding to the scene.
Your c & c is always welcome on my images.
I feel as if I have grown up - this is my first image finished with the full blown, grown up, Photoshop!

This for me is a fantastic image. I love it in B&W, as it only enhances to mood brought about by the mist rising up from the water. It also adds to the erie feeling of the horizen and the distant hills. The people on the beach add a wonderful human element. Beautifully done.

OK but just one thought. I can see an argument for cropping a little tighter and losing some of the clouds. There is quite a bit of 'empty' sky there and cropping out the top most 'band' of clouds does make the scene more compact. Either go more panoramic and/or lose a balancing amount from the right side?

Great shot! The spray really makes the photo. It wouldn’t have the same impact without it.

Thank you for your comments.
As many of you have said, the spray makes it. I have often been at that particular beach and I have never seen spray like this. Even when it is windy and there are waves crashing in, there is usually no spray. It must have been a combination of how the wind was blowing and the state of the tide. But whatever the reason, I'm glad it was there because it certainly gave me a fine image.

Donald, I love the way you used very strong highlights just beneath the cliffs. It imparts a lot of dynamics to the overall picture. I think that without those highlights it would just be a good picture instead of a great picture.
Cheers Ole
