    Livingston, Montana

Livingston, Montana is a cool town. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive from our Wyoming home and 45 minutes from my daughter's place. There are some very nice restaurants and shops. We were there this spring and had a ball. Here are some shots.

I like #2 quite a bit. Beautiful old barn, nice sky colors and overall great capture.
You are the only one not smiling in #3, so that spoils the entire photo.

Thanks. The couple on the left are friends of my daughter, she and her husband are in the middle and my wife and I are on the right. The only one missing was my son who was deployed to Afghanistan at the time.

Mission Ranch is a neat place. It is located east of Livingston. We've stayed there a couple of times before we built the Wyoming house. The fishing on the property is pretty good if one wants to hike through dense brush to get above the irrigation draws. Lots of native Cutthroats.

That is one area I would love to check out. I've never been to Yellowstone. We have friends in Helena, maybe one day we'll get out there. The ranch looks very fitting.... super Western.
Hope your son returned home safely.

Thanks. My son returned safely and is now in college.

Yellowstone is a beautiful place but it is crowded from mid May until mid September. We were there this May and it was packed. The best time to go is late September/early October. The crowds are gone and the wildlife are more active. You don't see tourists doing stupid things around big potentially dangerous animals. Elk are in the rut so big bulls can be very dangerous. The only drawback is the potential for inclement weather. Personally I like Teton National Park better. Fewer people. Jackson is a great place but pricey.

    You won't see these, however.

Great photos! The first one is pure ‘50s Americana. Looks like something off a period Hollywood set. #2 takes me back to my days living in Idaho. And last but not least, you have a beautiful family.

These are very interesting photos of an area I have never been to. I liked the composition of the first couple, and the bison, and yes your family shot is a keeper.

Two things that strike me about the images:
    1. The barn in shot #2 looks really rather rickety, yet it seems to have a brand new roof. If true that seems very odd to me...
    2. Why do Americans call Bison buffalo, and shouldn't Buffalo NY be REALLY called Bison NY?
