    Street watching

Some blemishes on these, not super great exposures, focus, etc. But fun to try to capture such a street scene that's always fascinating to some, scary to others.

I like both, the expressions, the added elements really make the capture.

Sorry Sharon, neither really works for me. The first one has more potential and I think a decent crop would help (remove a lot of the material along the top edge). The second one is just too busy and does not have a main subject.

You're to much focused on your subject. Take in account the background too. In #1 you should have waited until that lady was more on the street, away from behind your subject.
In #2 your subject is losing itself in the background. Another position might have solved that as you can see with that lady.

    Just continue.

Sorry not necessary, I realized they were not anywhere close to perfect. Yes to the first image, a better position may have worked.
Busy. Well, that's the problem with trying to capture the spirit of a location like skid row (Los Angeles). There's so much going on all the time. It's like a mini city in a big city.
Your criticisms are valid and very appreciated Manfred.

Thank you John. I particularly love the "lady" with the broom. Maybe a different focus/DOF would have highlighted her more which should have been the main subject. Need much more practice in street for locations like this, as it's probably not the safest nor welcome place to be taking photos.
