#3 From the top you get quite a good but hazy view.
Maroochy was a beautiful maiden (weren't they all?) who was betrothed to a warrior Coolum. But a warrior from a neighbouring tribe kidnapped her. Coolum went and rescued her but on the way home the enemy warrior threw a boomerang that cut off Coolum's head. He fell to his knees and became Mount Coolum; his head rolled into the sea and became Mudjimba Island. Heartbroken, Maroochy wandered inland and her tears became The Maroochy river that can be seen meandering across the plain.
#4 Mount Coolum can be seen in the haze near the sea.
Alas, the robber fly was the only creature of interest along the way.
